US First Deputy Treasury Secretary Adewale Adeyemo and Turkish Deputy Treasury Minister Yunus Elitas discussed sanctions against Russia during their meeting, Oops Top reported.

The American official expressed concern that Moscow is allegedly using Ankara to circumvent sanctions. The US Treasury Department said that the parties met to discuss efforts aimed at imposing these sanctions.

And according to Financial Times writes, Western countries are considering the possibility of imposing sanctions on Turkey, too, if it helps Russia circumvent sanctions.
