Russia intends to abandon the "poisonous" US dollar and euro in its investments and trade and economic relations with partners. The reason for this is the growing pressure from the Western countries, stated Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Aleksandr Pankin, Komsomolskaya Pravda writes.
"Amid the growing geopolitical pressure from the collective West, the only way to guarantee the stability of trade, economic and investment relations between Russia and its partners is to avoid the use of ‘poisonous’ currencies—first of all, the US dollar and the euro," the high-ranking Russian diplomat told TASS, adding that in the near future Moscow will implement a large-scale transition to calculations in alternative currencies.
