Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, Major General Eduard Asryan received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia Sergey Kopyrkin today, Defense Ministry told NEWS.am.

The meeting was also attended by the embassy's defense attache, Colonel Igor Shcherbakov.

Sergey Kopyrkin congratulated Eduard Asryan on his appointment as Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces and wished him success during this responsible mission.

During the meeting the sides discussed military cooperation as well as regional security issues.
