The Minister of Justice of Armenia has submitted a petition to the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) regarding launching disciplinary action against Judge Mnatsakan Martirosyan of the Yerevan court of general jurisdiction.

The May 18 decision of the European Court of Human Rights in the case of Vardan Jhangiryan vs. the Republic of Armenia has become the reason for launching disciplinary proceedings against Judge Martirosyan.

The SJC has decided to schedule a hearing on this petition for August 25.
