The Investigative Committee of Armenia continues its investigation of the murder committed in Vagharshapat (Etchmiadzin) city and the criminal proceedings initiated in connection with the illegal acquisition, storage, transportation and carrying of firearms, Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Investigative Committee.
The report regarding the transfer of two 27-year-old men with gunshot wounds—and from Etchmiadzin—to a medical center was received at 11:25pm on August 18. Later, one of them died in the hospital—and without regaining consciousness.
The circumstances of these young men's sustaining gunshot wounds, including the place of this incident, were ascertained
The Mercedes belonging to the deceased man was found on an Etchmiadzin street, in a state where it had collided with several cars parked on the roadside. Traces of blood were found inside this car, and more than a dozen gunshot wounds—on it, which were the result of a shootout that took place on an Etchmiadzin street.
The aforementioned young men had sustained the gunshot wounds during this armed incident.
On August 20, police officers found an Opel almost completely burnt in a field near the Yerevan-Armavir motorway. Fired shells, a bullet, unfired bullets, and a burned assault rifle were found in the area.
It was found out that a series of shots fired at the aforementioned Mercedes from the aforesaid Opel.
Several forensic examinations have been ordered.
The criminal investigation continues.
