A rally demanding the resignation of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan started in Yerevan's Republic Square today.

Back on August 10 the rally was announced by former ambassador of Armenia to Poland, ex-head of the CC staff Edgar Ghazaryan, who announced the creation of the Independence Movement

According to the plan, Pashinyan should leave on September 21, either on his own, or by initiating a legal process, or by expressing no confidence in the Prime Minister by 1/3 of the National Assembly.

The ex-ambassador considered it likely that the pro-government MPs themselves would express no confidence in Pashinyan. Ghazaryan announced plans to hold three rallies. The first will take place today, the second on September 2, a rally of the Resistance Movement, and the third on September 21, during the discussion of Pashinyan's resignation initiative in the National Assembly courtyard.

At that time he assured that the new movement had nothing to do with the Resistance Movement. According to him, the new movement does not oppose the actions that will be carried out by partners from the Resistance Movement.
