The U.S. has imposed sanctions on seven companies linked to China due to threats to national security, according to a U.S. Department of Commerce document released Tuesday.

The Commerce Department is amending export control regulations to add seven entities to the sanctions list, the document said.

It notes that these organizations have been identified by the U.S. government as acting contrary to the national security or foreign policy interests of the United States and will be added to the sanctions list with a destination in China.
