Germany will support Ukraine financially, militarily and politically as long as it takes for the Eastern European country. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said this in a video address to Ukrainians on Wednesday, today, published on Twitter on the occasion of the Independence Day of their country, reports Deutsche Welle.

Scholz stressed that Germany is firmly on the side of Ukraine, which has been defending itself against a full-scale Russian invasion for exactly six months.


The German chancellor promised they will continue to supply weapons, from self-propelled howitzers to surface-to-air missile systems, month after month.

In addition, Germany will continue to train Ukrainian servicemen in the use of the most modern European military equipment, he added.

The FRG will continue its sanctions policy against Russia, which unleashed the war, will support Ukraine in rebuilding the country, will continue to transport Ukrainian grain by rail, accept Ukrainian refugees and treat the wounded in German hospitals, Scholz said.
