Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, due to her health problems, will not appoint a new prime minister at Buckingham Palace, as tradition requires, The Sun tabloid reports, citing an informed source.
According to a source, the Queen will do it at Balmoral Castle in Scotland. According to him, the 96-year-old monarch was advised not to leave for London.
It's not a good choice to have the queen travel a thousand miles back and forth for a 48-hour visit when the prime minister can easily get to Balmoral himself, the source said.
He also noted that Elizabeth II is going to appoint a new prime minister herself, and not entrust her son Prince Charles with it.
