The Consular Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry temporarily stops accepting applications for 10-year valid passports from today, while passports valid for 5 years will continue to be issued, according to the website of the Department of the Foreign Ministry.

"From August 26, temporarily stops accepting applications for the issuance of new generation passports (valid for 10 years). Registration of passports with period of validity of 5 years will continue without changes in the established order as a primary, instead of the current, used, lost or spoiled," is said in the message.
