Today marks the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia, which has defined the principles and priorities of our interstate relations. The document is an important milestone on the road to bringing the bilateral partnership to the level of true allied relations. The Russian foreign ministry noted this in a media statement Monday on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the aforementioned treaty.

"The past period has convincingly demonstrated that the further strengthening of ties between Moscow and Yerevan fully corresponds to the vital interests of our peoples, serves the goals of socioeconomic development of both countries, strengthening of stability in the South Caucasus. We are successfully moving forward in many directions of cooperation, filling it with specific content, increasing the efficiency of interaction.

Constant reliable contacts between the leaders of Russia and Armenia are of decisive importance for the deepening of bilateral potential, which enable not only to resolve urgent matters, but also to coordinate positions on important regional and international issues. Pashinyan, which was adopted during the official visit of the Armenian government to Russia on April 19-20, 2022, the intention to deepen intergovernmental relations comprehensively, based on the principles stipulated in the 1997 agreement, was confirmed.
