I am again addressing the Kelbajar-Karvachar topic of the day before yesterday, especially for intellectuals. Vilen Gabrielyan, an MP of the ruling majority “Civil Contract” Faction of the National Assembly of Armenia, wrote this on Facebook Tuesday morning.
"And so, what have I written? The idea was as follows: 'according to the correspondence of the name of the place, the content and the essence and features of the sound, ‘Kelbajar’ suits better than ‘Karvachar’ [of Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)].'
Of course, I admit that the sentence is not written that well. (...).
I have just written that the name 'Kelbajar,' which translates as 'fortress on the river' or 'stone castle,' suits the features and essence of the place, in sound and meaning, more than 'Kar-Vachar,' especially in meaning. That's all I had written, nothing else is written here, which everyone sees according to his desire and personal attitude," Gabrielyan added, in particular.
