French President Emmanuel Macron asked his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raisi to mediate in the negotiations between Russia and Ukraine. This secret request of the French leader was disclosed by Mohammad Jamshidi, deputy head of the Iranian presidential administration for political affairs, ISNA newspaper reported.

According to him, after a series of consultations, a delegation headed by Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian was sent to Moscow to convey the peace initiatives of the Iranian president.
