The transfer of state universities, among many other problems, will inevitably lead to further subordination of state universities, including YSU, to American, Slovenian, French and other similar universities. Former Justice Minister and YSU lecturer Gevorg Danielyan wrote on his Facebook page.

"Artificial distortion of competition is a negative phenomenon in itself, especially against the backdrop of noticeable emigration trends. On the contrary, serious state support, including financial support, is needed to strengthen public universities... We need strong support from the government to strengthen public universities," he said.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told a government session today that up to 8 state universities should operate in Armenia and they should be located in Ashtarak, NEWS.am reported.
