It has been found that Mikayel Arzumanyan, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Defense Minister and Defense Army Commander at the time, had exceeded the limit of his official powers under the conditions of the martial law declared during the war unleashed by leadership of Azerbaijan in 2020, and this carelessly caused severe material consequences. Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned about this from the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

On Thursday, Arzumanyan was charged with a crime.

As part of another criminal proceeding being investigated by the Investigative Committee, on Tuesday Arzumanyan was charged with official carelessness during the organization of the defense of Shushi city and surrounding regions of Artsakh during the aforesaid war, and a motion was filed with the court to have him arrested.

And on Thursday, a Yerevan court granted the aforesaid motion and Mikayel Arzumanyan has been remanded in custody for two months.
