Yerevan State University (YSU) rector Hovhannes Hovhannisyan informed that he met with University of Tabriz chancellor Safar Nasrollahzade, with whom they discussed the steps to establish bilateral cooperation and the avenues for implementing joint projects in areas of mutual interest in that regard.

"(...) a preliminary agreement was reached to create a Chair of Armenian Studies at the University of Tabriz, to which we have expressed our readiness to fully support, as well as to create a center for Atropatene Studies within the framework of the YSU Chair of Iranian Studies, which will become an important platform for regional research," the YSU rector added, in particular.
