A group of residents of the Haghtanak neighborhood of Malatia-Sebastia district, who are protesting in front of the Yerevan Municipality building, blocked the street near the building.
A little later, the head of the Malatia-Sebastia district, Sasha Katvalyan, approached them and said that the Yerevan mayor proposed that three residents enter the city hall building and meet with him.
The demonstrators, however, demanded that the mayor himself come out and meet with them.
Katvalyan told reporters that the issue at hand was not resolved for decades, adding that the matter refers to about 130 people.
His appeals to the protesters to reopen the aforesaid street were in vain.
And the special police force got involved in the matter.
Ultimately, the head of the Malatia-Sebastia district and several Haghtanak neighborhood residents entered the municipality building.
At this moment, their meeting continues.
The protesting residents of Haghtanak neighborhood say that the authorities do not privatize their land and homes.
