Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia will discuss cooperation in the framework of the North-South Transport Corridor. The official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani said this, noting that the meeting of representatives of the three countries will be held next week in Baku.

He reminded that the three countries are participants in the North-South corridor. "Considering global events and especially the situation in Ukraine, as well as problems related to the transportation of goods and energy resources on international transit routes, the importance of the North-South transit route has once again attracted the attention of the world community," he noted.

According to him, many countries within and outside the region are interested in the opportunities to use this corridor. "The development of this road is important for Iran and two neighboring countries (Russia and Azerbaijan). A meeting of representatives of the three countries is scheduled next week in Baku, all related issues will be discussed and, God willing, joint agreements will be concluded to develop opportunities to maximize the use of the corridor."
