Since the beginning of 2022, a total of 49 thousand people have left Russia for Armenia.

Most of those who left Russia went to Ukraine (79,600) and Tajikistan (58,400).

Armenia is in third place in this regard.

In the first half of this year, a total of 419 thousand people left Russia for abroad, RBC reports, citing data from the Russian Federal Service for State Statistics (Rosstat). This is two times more compared to the same period last year, when 202 thousand people had left Russia.

Moreover, while there was an increase in immigration in Russia in the first half of 2021—and which amounted to 114,200 people, in the first six months of this year, however, there was a decrease—amounting to 96,700 people.

In particular, according to the Rosstat data, a total of 368 thousand people left Russia for other CIS countries—including Armenia, but 294 thousand of them returned. The migration outflow was 73 thousand people, compared to the increase of 111 thousand in 2021.

The number of people leaving Russia increased by 216,500 people, or 2.1 times, Rosstat added, in particular.
