Turkey expressed dissatisfaction with the position of the European Union and the Czech Republic, which chairs the EU, regarding the disagreements between Ankara and Athens. The Turkish Foreign Ministry believes that the statements of the EU and Prague on this issue have no significance or value.

Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Tanju Bilgiç said the EU's unilateral support for Greece contradicts international law.

The comments followed Erdogan's threats to Athens that Turkey could attack at night if Athens continued to "militarize the islands off the coast of Turkey."

The Czech Foreign Ministry called Erdogan's remarks "unacceptable."

According to him, Turkey will continue to resolutely defend its "legitimate" rights and interests in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas.

Bilgic said that if Prague wants to promote good relations, then Turkey-EU relations should be spared the narrow-minded Greek and Cypriot veto, which undermines the solidarity and common interests of the EU.

Note that Erdogan again voiced threats against Greece.
