SOCAR Complex Drilling Trust's representative Zakulla Kerimov arrived in Batman to carry out oil drilling operations on behalf of the Turkish TPAO company. He conducted preliminary studies and met with the city's governor Ekrem Canalp.

Turkish media reported that during the meeting with SOCAR the governor was informed of the oil prospecting works to be carried out. It is reported that as part of the contract signed between Azerbaijan and Turkey at the oil summit held in Istanbul in March, Zakulla Kerimov said that the most important drilling works are planned in Batman.
