After the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, Prince Charles, formerly the Prince of Wales, became king immediately.
His title will be transferred to his son Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. However, Charles will not officially be named monarch until Friday, the day after the monarch's death.
