The conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan is being prepared in Samarkand, the topic of the grain deal will be discussed, including the supply of Russian food. Press secretary of the Russian head of state Dmitry Peskov said this, RIA Novosti reported.

"A conversation between Putin and Erdogan is possible and necessary and is already being prepared, which we expect will take place in Samarkand. This conversation is really overdue. We see that the Istanbul agreements are being implemented on grain. We see that this realization does not bring any benefits to the poor countries, because only two vessels with the cargo of food arrived to these poor countries," he told the journalists.

Peskov noted that this is the first topic to be discussed, of course.

"And of course this is the topic of getting Russian food into international markets," Peskov added.

The SCO summit will be held in Samarkand on September 15-16.
