Alen Simonyan, speaker of the National Assembly, said today that opposition MPs may lose their mandates if they continue to miss National Assembly sessions.

Nevertheless, according to him, the work of the parliament will not suffer because of their absences.

As for the future, Simonyan noted that opposition MPs are unlikely to be able to miss meetings without certain consequences in the future.

"This time we limited ourselves to their positions. In the future, no one, whether international partners or citizens, will be surprised if we use this right (to deprive them of their mandates - editor), which is quite logical," threatened the head of parliament.
