The Cabinet received an audience with King Charles III after he was officially proclaimed monarch to succeed the late Queen Elizabeth II, PA Media reports.

British Prime Minister Liz Truss brought her senior ministers to Buckingham Palace.

The king spent time talking with new Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and Defense Minister Ben Wallace.

The prime minister introduced him to cabinet members as they lined up in Room 1844 at Buckingham Palace.

After the cabinet audience, the king met with leaders of the opposition parties, including Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer.

The previous day, Charles III had his first audience as monarch with Prime Minister Liz Truss.

Today, on September 10, the official ceremony for the proclamation of King Charles III took place.
