The French Embassy in Armenia has responded to the release of Armenian prisoners by Azerbaijan.

France welcomes Azerbaijan's release of five Armenian prisoners following the August 31, 2022 meeting in Brussels between European Council President Charles Michel, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

This humanitarian gesture is another step towards the goal of the release of all prisoners. France will continue to support all efforts aimed at solving humanitarian problems between the two countries and establishing a stable peace in the region," the embassy said in a statement.
