Members of the International Committee of the Red Cross once again acquainted with the state of health of Armenian prisoners of war held in Azerbaijan from late August to early September, Zara Amatuni, head of communication programs of the International Committee of the Red Cross' Armenian office, told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
The last visit was at the end of August-beginning of September. During this time, Red Cross got acquainted both with the state of health of the captives and with the conditions of detention. The captives were also given the opportunity to contact their families through phone calls, letters and video messages.
The Red Cross hopes that they will be able to provide this connection with the same frequency: once a month, said Amatuni.
On September 8, Azerbaijan handed over five prisoners of war to the Armenian side.
