The opposition Armenia faction appealed to Russia, as well as other friendly countries, calling for immediate measures to prevent the criminal actions of Azerbaijan. The political force published a statement to this effect on social networking sites.

"We appeal to our strategic ally, Russia, expecting actions stipulated by the Armenian-Russian military-political treaties. We call on the international community-UN, OSCE, CSTO, the co-chair countries involved in the negotiation process on the Karabakh conflict - Russia, France, the United States of America to immediately take measures to prevent the criminal actions of Azerbaijan and give them an adequate assessment," the statement says.

The political force expects the active participation of friendly countries, especially the Islamic Republic of Iran, to assess the criminal behavior of Azerbaijan and containment of Azerbaijani aggression: "We urge our people not to panic, to keep vigilance and be ready to defend the Armenian statehood.

The faction considers the Azerbaijani aggression against Armenia as a gross violation of international law: "Another military adventure of Azerbaijan was preceded by information subversion to form the so-called public opinion".

Azerbaijan, taking advantage of the difficult situation in the international arena, is trying to encroach on the sovereign territory of Armenia, the authors of the message stress.

"What is happening once again shows the true face of the so-called peace era and the danger of the false agenda imposed on the Armenian people," the statement says.
