Bob Menendez, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the US Senate, is deeply concerned by reports of Azerbaijani attacks on Armenian territory. The American legislator wrote about this on Twitter.

“Shelling Armenian towns & innocent civilians is illegal & unacceptable. The world must stand up to authoritarian brutality. The US must end all security assistance to Azerbaijan now,” Menendez added. 

Starting from 12:05am on Tuesday, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces started firing intensively—from artillery and large-caliber firearms—at Armenia’s positions toward Goris, Kapan, Sotk, Jermuk, Artanish, and Ishkhanasar. The adversary is using drones, too. The intense shootout continues as a result of this large-scale provocation by the Azerbaijani side. The Armenian Armed Forces are retaliating appropriately. The Ministry of Defense informs that the Armenian side has casualties and wounded; the respective data are being verified.
