YEREVAN. – As of 2pm Tuesday, the situation in some parts of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border continues to be extremely tense, Armenian News-NEWS.am has learned from the Ministry of Defense (MOD) of Armenia.
Despite the considerable reduction in the intensity of the shelling, the adversary continues its positional advancement attempts—particularly in the direction of Nerkin Hand, Verin Shorzha, Artanish, and Sotk villages.
The units of the Armed Forces of Armenia continue to carry out, in full, the combat tasks set before them.
The initial number of casualties—49—as a result of the large-scale military aggression of Azerbaijan has already been publicized by the Prime Minister. After complete verification of the data, the MOD will announce additional information about the death toll and the wounded.
As already noted, civilian infrastructure was also targeted by Azerbaijani units, as a result of which civilians were also injured.
The MOD is studying in detail the videos related to the Armenian servicemen that are posted on the Azerbaijani Telegram channels. There will be additional clarifications regarding them, too.
As reported earlier, Azerbaijan opened fire early hours on Tuesday near the Armenian borders. The reports have been confirmed by the Armenian defense ministry spokesperson, who said that the adversary used UAVs, too.
