At the initiative of the Armenian side an extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Permanent Council was held Tuesday with the participation of the leaders of the CSTO Secretariat and the head of the United Staff, Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, the CSTO official website reported.
CSTO Secretary General Victor Biyagov, who chaired the session, briefed his colleagues on the developments on the situation in certain regions of Armenia's border with Azerbaijan and reported on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's appeal to members of the CSTO Collective Security Council in this regard.
Council members expressed extreme concern over the unfolding situation and considered proposals on the possible use of CSTO mechanisms to resolve the situation.
