The principled position voiced today is that Belarus has always proceeded from a no-alternative peaceful settlement of the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan, exclusively by political and diplomatic methods. The current situation requires a thorough study, Secretary of State of the Collective Security Council of Belarus Alexander Volfovich said during an extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council, BelTA informs.
"The steps, which can be taken promptly, were suggested. They include a visit of the CSTO Secretary General to the conflict zone to prepare a detailed report to the heads of state and establish a working group of the Secretariat and the CSTO Joint Staff to analyze the situation and make proposals," he said.
