Pope Francis called for prayers for peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Sputnik-Kazakhstan reports.
"It was with concern that I learned that in these hours new hotbeds of tension in the Caucasus region have been ignited," the Pope said at a Mass in Nur-Sultan.
He urged continued prayers for a peaceful settlement in these countries so that "concord will prevail over discord."
