The parliamentary factions of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic made a statement in connection with Azerbaijan's aggression against Armenia and encroachment on the sovereign territory and territorial integrity of Armenia.

The Republic of Azerbaijan, ignoring international norms, particularly the principles enshrined in the UN Charter and the Helsinki Final Act, has started a war against the Republic of Armenia since September 13, 2022. Peaceful settlements and military objects came under attack, as a result of which hundreds of military and civilian population were killed and wounded.

We bow our heads before the soldiers, officers and their relatives who died for the defense of the borders of their country. We express our support to our compatriots in the Republic of Armenia and call on all Armenians to rally together and defend the borders of our homeland with joint efforts.

During the 44-day war in 2020, the unanswered calls and passive attitude of the international community have made Azerbaijan more aggressive, with all of its actions sponsored by Turkey. Such aggressive behavior of Azerbaijan and its dubious peace agenda put the Armenian people in danger of physical annihilation.

We urge the international community to condemn the aggressive actions of Azerbaijan and take effective steps to preserve the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia and to establish a lasting peace in the region.
