Turkish and Azerbaijani Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev met on the margins of the SCO summit in Samarkand. The meeting between Erdogan and Aliyev was closed to the press, Anadolu news agency reported. No other details have been reported so far.

The meeting took place against the background of Azerbaijani aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia. Official Ankara supported the aggression, while Erdogan threatened Yerevan with "consequences" the day before.

The armed forces of the Republic of Armenia are responding adequately. As of now the Armenian side has 105 casualties, over 100 wounded, including civilians. The night before around 8 p.m. a cease fire was declared. According to the Armenian Defense Ministry, the situation on the border has stabilized.
