The Indian representative said that they are serious about examining why the situation in the Caucasus, especially on the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan, remains tense. Her remarks came during the UN Security Council meeting.

She said recent reports of strikes along Armenia's border, including strikes on civilian infrastructure, are troubling. They call on the aggressor side to immediately cease hostilities and show restraint. These actions pose a serious threat to peace and stability in the region. The UN Security Council cannot afford to remain silent and allow the situation to deteriorate, she said.

For his part, the representative of Gabon said that his clashes between Armenian and Azerbaijani forces reminded him of the sad conflict of 2020, which killed thousands of people. Gabon  mourns the loss of life and condemns the use of armed forces to resolve the differences. A military solution will only reinforce mutual grievances and tensions in the region, and all parties who can influence the warring parties must get on board. All their efforts must be to return to the negotiating table.  There must be a return to peace between the two countries.
