A vanguard team of the CSTO mission will develop proposals regarding the de-escalation of the situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

According to the press service of the CSTO Joint Headquarters, this mission is tasked with developing proposals for de-escalation of the current tension.

It is planned to study and monitor the current situation in separate sections of the aforesaid border, as well as to hold working meetings with the Ministry of Defense and the army General Staff Armenia, as well as with the Russian embassy, the leadership of the Russian border department, and the command of the 102nd Russian military base in Armenia.

This CSTO mission vanguard team led by Anatoly Sidorov, Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff, arrived in Armenia on Thursday to assess the situation. Upon his arrival in Yerevan, Sidorov had a meeting with the Minister of Defense of Armenia, Suren Papikyan, during which the situation in some parts of the Armenia-Azerbaijani border was discussed.
