Azerbaijan aimed to deliver serious economic blows to Armenia by hitting the infrastructure of Jermuk city. Edvard Asryan, Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, stated about this at a meeting Friday in Jermuk, with the heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Armenia.

"We will immediately show you the places where the adversary carried out strikes in Jermuk. During the strikes, it used both jet artillery and combat UAVs," Asryan noted.

"Jermuk, as a health resort, has people from various countries vacationing here. But as a result of hitting the cable car [system], there are currently no representatives from other countries left in Jermuk. There are children's playgrounds in the area of the cable car. Since no evacuation was conducted from Jermuk, the people and those vacationing from various countries were in the city," added Asryan.

"Undoubtedly, the units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces have chosen civilian infrastructures also as targets because Jermuk is an international health resort, and by targeting the infrastructures of the city, the military and political leadership of Azerbaijan has pursued also the goal of inflicting serious economic blows on Armenia," he said.

The heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Armenia are now in Jermuk to learn about the consequences of the latest Azerbaijani military aggression.
