All the measures related to the displacement and evacuation of the population have been carried out properly these days in the city of Jermuk. Governor Ararat Grigoryan of Vayots Dzor  Province stated about this at a meeting Friday in Jermuk—and with heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Armenia.

According to him, some of the residents of Jermuk have relocated to protective places, shelters, and the others—to nearby safe areas.

"All possible measures have been implemented so that citizens are safe. We did not expect that the civilian and other infrastructures of the city of Jermuk would be hit [by Azerbaijan]; that's why we were surprised. No loss was recorded among the civilian population of Jermuk. At the moment, there are no civilians in the dangerous zone of Jermuk," said the governor of Vayots Dzor.

Also, he stressed that there are no residents and civil infrastructures in the areas where the Azerbaijani army has advanced, and added that the Azerbaijanis have advanced solely in pastures and some other areas.

"Taking into account the safety of our children, classes in schools have been suspended. We are now thinking of other measures in order to ensure the right of these children to receive education," added Ararat Grigoryan.

To note, the heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Armenia are now in Jermuk to learn about the consequences of the latest Azerbaijani military aggression.
