Despite a cease-fire agreement, Kyrgyzstan has been using military helicopters and combat drones to attack homes and civilian objects in Tajikistan since 3 p.m. local time, the Tajik State Committee for National Security told RIA Novosti.

"Despite the meeting of the leaders of the first security agencies and the announcement of a cease-fire, an hour and a half later the Kyrgyz side began firing group weapons and military equipment in the direction of Bobojon, Ghafurov, Vorukh and Chorkuh districts," the SCNS press center reported.

According to Tajikistan's SCNS, Kyrgyzstan is using military helicopters and combat drones to attack citizens' homes and civilian facilities in Tajikistan, and is moving additional forces and equipment from the center of Kyrgyzstan's Batken district to Tajikistan's border regions.

Large-scale fighting on the Kyrgyzstan-Tajikistan border began Friday morning. The sides accused each other of shelling. Later, the Kyrgyz border service reported that the heads of special services of the two countries agreed to a cease-fire. Later in the evening, the Kyrgyz border guard service said that the ceasefire was violated by the Tajik military.

Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are members of the CSTO.
