The advance group of the CSTO mission in Armenia, headed by Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov, conducted monitoring on Saturday at several sites on the border with Azerbaijan, TASS reports.
Representatives of the Armed Forces of Armenia showed the consequences of shelling on the territory of one of the air defense units. The mission also visited Goris and the village of Akner in the Syunik province, where a residential building was damaged due to an artillery shell.
On Tuesday, the CSTO Collective Security Council at an extraordinary session via videoconference decided to send a mission of the organization headed by Secretary General Stanislav Zas to Armenia. At the meeting, it was also decided to create a working group from among the staff of the secretariat and the military personnel of the CSTO Joint Headquarters to constantly monitor the situation in the area of responsibility. The advance group of the CSTO mission led by Colonel General Anatoly Sidorov arrived in Armenia on September 15.
