The so-called Zangezur corridor or NATO Turan Corridor is a geopolitical intrigue of Britain and Israel in the important Caucasus region of north-western Iran, an Iranian expert on the Caucasus Ahmad Kazemi stated. He noted that the roles of agent and executor in this project are assigned to Baku and Ankara, Pars Today reported.

"There is incontrovertible evidence that Britain and the Zionist regime are the main architects of this tension.  Former British representative to NATO Adam Thomson clearly said that the war between Azerbaijan and Armenia in 2020 created a historic opportunity that should be seized, and by creating a corridor connecting Turkey to Azerbaijan in southern Armenia, we will bring NATO to the Caspian Sea and NATO will be one step closer to China," he said.

According to him, "all facts and evidences show that Azerbaijan intends to occupy and annex the south of Armenia and even abandoned the plan of the Zangezur corridor".

As the portal recalls, Armenia's representative to the UN also stated recently that there are reports that Azerbaijan is planning to undertake military actions from Nakhijevan to occupy other parts of Armenia and cut Armenia's connections with the southern regions of the country.  In practice, this part of Armenia will be divided and annexed to Azerbaijan with the help of Turkey and Israel.

"Given the weakness, hopelessness and fragility of Armenia in the current situation, Azerbaijan, with the support of Britain, the Zionist regime and Turkey, pursues goals beyond the false corridor of Zangezur. Taking into account the words of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, who has repeatedly stressed that the southern region of Armenia and even Yerevan historically belong to Azerbaijan, and Azerbaijanis will return there politically or militarily, the expansionist ambitions of Azerbaijan to annex the southern regions of Armenia are obvious," he said.
