In case of a peace treaty and settlement of the conflict, Ukraine will be able to regain the territories occupied by Russia since 2014, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan told PBS TV channel.
Erdogan noted that Russia cannot be allowed to maintain control over former Ukrainian territories and the conflict will not be resolved if Kyiv goes along with it.
"If we want to establish peace in Ukraine, of course the return of the territories to the country will be a really important point," Erdogan said.
He also noted that the return of the territories to Ukraine is "expected" as part of possible peace talks between Kiev and Moscow.
