Europe suffers from the sanctions imposed as a result of the war in Ukraine more than Russia itself, so it would be better to abandon the eighth package of sanctions, as they will only exacerbate the problems, said Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó at the UN General Assembly, Daily Hungary reported.
According to him, the sanctions have undoubtedly caused more damage in Europe than in Russia, as they have led to a sharp rise in inflation and the cost of utilities on the continent.
He noted that the vast majority of the world outside Europe has already realized that the consequences of sanctions have been more serious than those of war, because the problems the world currently faces are the result of sanctions, not directly of war.
Winter is approaching, when supply problems will only get worse, he said, adding that"it would be important to stop talking about sanctions that further deepen the crisis.
