Armenian Ombudsman Kristine Grigoryan held an online meeting with FIDH Executive Director Eleonore Morel and head of Eastern Europe and Central Asia Office Ilya Nuzhov on Monday.
Grigoryan was briefed by the press service of the Ombudsman's Office in Armenia, NEWS.am reports. Grigoryan, in particular, presented an unscheduled report of the Office of the Human Rights Defender. It spoke about gross violations of various international human rights, as well as humanitarian law.
The Ombudsman particularly singled out violations of the right to life, the absolute prohibition of torture, inhuman or degrading treatment, and the targeting of civilians and civilian infrastructure. She also answered the questions of her colleagues and presented the current situation of human rights protection on the territory of Armenia.
