YEREVAN. – The Prosecutor General of Armenia, Anna Vardapetyan, on Wednesday received Martina Schmidt, Head of the Council of Europe (CoE) Office in Yerevan, the Prosecutor General’s Office informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

First, the Prosecutor General highlighted their projects with the CoE in a number of domains.

Also, Vardapetyan briefed the CoE official on the current situation as a result of the large-scale Azerbaijani military aggression unleashed on the sovereign territory of Armenia on September 13, and emphasized that the Azerbaijani troops must withdraw from the occupied territories of Armenia. In this context, Vardapetyan underscored the need for clear positions and actions by the international community toward the withdrawal of the Azerbaijani troops from the sovereign territory of Armenia.

CoE official Martina Schmidt, for her part, stressed the importance of their cooperation with the Prosecutor General’s Office of Armenia in a number of key domains, and expressed readiness to deepen this cooperation.
