Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov declined to comment on his son Nikolay's position on attendance at the military registration and enlistment office amid the announcement of partial mobilization in the country, Gazeta.ru reported.
"I know about it and I know that the full text of the conversation has not been posted," Peskov said in response to a question about how he would comment on the publicized dialogue.
According to the press secretary, he knows about his son's position from himself, but he will not comment on it.
On September 21, journalists published a fragment of a conversation with Peskov's son Nikolay in which they introduced themselves as employees of the military registration and enlistment office and said that they had to come to the registration and enlistment office at 10am the next day. In the published fragment of the conversation, the press secretary's son declines a visit to the military registration and envisages "another way" of resolving the issue: "Naturally, I will not be there at 10 a.m. tomorrow. If you know that I am Mr. Peskov, you must understand how wrong it is for me to be there. I will deal with this on a different level. I need to understand in general what is going on and what my rights are...
For me to be taken away tomorrow, believe me, neither you nor I need that. I have no problem defending my homeland, but I need to understand the expediency of my appearance there, I'm telling you about certain political nuances.
