Gnel Sanosyan, Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, and Karen Sargsyan, received Japanese Ambassador Masanori Fukushima.
During the meeting, a number of matters of mutual interest were discussed. In addition, the Armenian minister highlighted the need for regular air flights between the two countries, which will also contribute to the development of other sectors.
Ambassador Fukushima, for his part, thanked the Sanosyan for organizing their visit to Gegharkunik Province, which gave them the opportunity to get familiarized with the consequences of Azerbaijan's recent military aggression against Armenia, and said they are going to present them to their governments.
Also, the Japanese diplomat noted that there are good friendly relations between the two countries, but there is a considerable untapped potential in business and trade, which must be realized.
"Armenia is a very important partner for Japan. Armenia is a very democratic country. The Japanese government is ready to continue providing various types of support to Armenia. As the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Japan [to Armenia], I would like to invest all my efforts in order to further develop the relations between our two countries," the diplomat emphasized.
