President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will travel to Russia on Tuesday to meet with President Vladimir Putin, the UAE state news agency WAM reported.
During his visit, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed will discuss with President Putin the friendly relations between the UAE and Russia, as well as a number of regional and international issues and events of mutual interest, the report said.
Meanwhile, Reuters notes that the visit will take place less than a week after OPEC+ agreed to drastically cut oil production in defiance of U.S. pressure.
Sources say OPEC's decision has further strained relations between Washington and its traditional Gulf allies in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.
