A Chinese company tested an electric flying cab in Dubai, demonstrating futuristic technology that could one day transport people.
The XPeng X2, developed by Guangzhou-based aviation subsidiary XPeng Inc, is one of dozens of flying car projects around the world. Few have been successfully tested with passengers on board, and it will probably be many years before they are put into service.
The demonstration went off without people, but the company says it conducted manned flight tests in July 2021.
The elegant vehicle can carry two passengers and is powered by a set of eight propellers. The company claims that its top speed is 130 kilometers per hour.
